AMASX: ROUND #11 HUSQVARNA RACE REPORT – INDIANAPOLIS

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson and Martin Davalos entertained a packed Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday for the 11th round of the 2015 Supercross series. Anderson leaves Indiana seventh overall in the 450SX class, while Davalos holds on to sixth overall in the 250SX East class.

Martin Davalos started in the top-five in his heat race and steadily moved through the pack to finish third and transfer to the 250 main. In the main, he pulled the holeshot aboard his Husqvarna FC 250 and led the first lap before going down in the whoops in the second lap. He remounted in the back of the pack and worked his way up to 15th by the time the race ended. He is currently sixth overall in 250SX East rider point standings.

“I’ve been struggling with my health since January,” said Davalos. “I figured that, since I broke my foot, it was my body trying to adjust again. I didn’t have any adrenaline or fire in me – which isn’t me. I went to the doctor to get checked out and found out that I have a flair of Epstein-Barr. I’m just trying to get myself going again but I don’t want it to get worse. I’m struggling with my energy levels, and my adrenal glands aren’t working. I just wanted to save as much energy as I could for the main event. I got a good start, and my bike is awesome, but I’m just not on point.”

Jason Anderson started in the top 10 in his heat and was quickly progressing before going down in a corner with another rider. He remounted outside of qualifying position and was forced to head to the semi. After suffering from a poor start in his semi, he rode strong and aggressive all 6 laps to navigate his way through the field and complete an exciting last turn pass aboard his Husqvarna FC 450 to take the final transfer position to the main. In the main, Anderson started in the back of the pack, rode hard, and eventually finished 17th. He is currently seventh overall in 450SX rider point standings.

“It was kind of a weird day,” said Anderson. “I didn’t feel well at all, and I went into the main with the hopes to recover from everything that happened earlier in the day. I ended up having two pretty good crashes. I’m just going to try and forget about this weekend and come back next weekend.”
