Audi has teamed up with Amazon and DHL to launch a new pilot project called “Audi connect easy delivery.”
Set to kick off next month in Munich, the easy delivery service will give Amazon Prime customers the option of selecting their Audi as the shipping address for online orders. DHL Parcel will then be given GPS coordinates to the car so their driver can deliver the package and place it in the vehicle's trunk. Access is granted via a temporary digital access code which can only be used in a certain time frame and expires as soon as the trunk has been closed.
According to Audi sales boss Luca de Meo, “Audi connect easy delivery helps save time and offers more convenience and flexibility – advantages that are increasingly important for the target group of a premium brand.”
While the program is only a pilot project, Audi hinted they will expand the service to include letter and parcel pickups in the future.
