Previewing a new Lincoln Continental full-size luxury sedan, there was no need to give the concept another name. Ford CEO, Mark Fields, says the car “is a strong indication of what’s to come next year” and that “the Continental Concept showcases the promise of quiet luxury from Lincoln going forward.” In short, it is “luxury at its best.” It is also a template for Lincoln’s new design language, and unless you’re the design boss of Bentley, you’ll probably agree that’s a very good thing.
There’s nothing pompous or grandiose about the exterior styling, although it exudes high-end qualities. Step inside, however, and you’ll quickly feel very special. E-Latch handles will close the doors if you can’t be bothered to do it yourself, the SmartGlass sunroof will tint automatically to keep the sunlight from spoiling your nap, while soft-gold LED lamps will shroud passengers in a soft glow. We’re not sure how a 30-way adjustable seat works, but we’d love to try, and the Venetian leather upholstery, thick wool carpets and chrome and Rose Gold trim help to create an environment where sipping champagne (all the tools are provided for this too) will seem obligatory.
