The newly established Mercedes-AMG division will eventually offer models featuring autonomous driving technology.
Mercedes-Benz signaled the new era of autonomous vehicles at the beginning of the year with the F 015 Luxury in Motion concept and it seems the technology will eventually be carried over to their sporty models part of the Mercedes-AMG portfolio. In an interview with Motoring, the division's president Tobias Moers said driverless tech won't kill high-performance cars as he believes both of them can peacefully coexist.
Speaking during the New York Auto Show, Moers said "if there is still a button to turn it off, that's the better way for us at AMG", adding that he likes the idea of choosing when to drive and when to let the autonomous tech handle all the work. The Mercedes-AMG president said the upcoming technology will be useful for those moments when driving is not enjoyable and also when you have a lot of work to do while on the go.
