The Mercedes-Maybach S600 has made its Asian premiere at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Also exhibited at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is a longer and more luxurious version of the S-Class LWB developed to rival the traditional British marques Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The vehicle has an overall length of 5453mm and comes with a 3365mm wheelbase, with both figures representing a 200mm increase over the long wheelbase S-Class.
The exterior styling differences are not that easy to spot as only the front grille has been slightly modified while the rear doors are 66mm shorter. The third side window now sits after the C pillar and the car rides on a set of wheels reminiscent of the defunct Maybach 62.
Inside the luxurious cabin, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features two executive rear seats with individually adjustable backrests and cushions. It has gained the "quietest car in the world" status thanks to the use of more sound-deadening material and special seals optimizing noise insulation.
The Mercedes-Maybach S600 will be commercially available starting February next year and will be shortly followed by S500 and S400 4MATIC versions.
