Zagato will be revealing this summer the Maserati Mostro at the Concorso d’Elengaza Villa d’Este, to celebrate the collaboration of the coachbuilder with Maserati. On its 100th anniversary, they will be paying tribute to the 1957 Maserati 450 S. Known for its monstrous power, the original coupe held the title of the most powerful front-engined racer for more than 30 years.
“Il Mostro” is a retro modern master piece made entirely of carbon fiber. The engine is a V8 engine assisted by a 6 speed semi automatic rear transaxle. No more words on the performance but it was stated that it will have a double wishbone suspension and 19-inch alloys housing large disc brakes. Road legal but “created from pure racing mechanics”, we will only be seeing five of these worldwide, since no more than five units will be produced!
