New “Ride” Video Game To Feature 100 Real-World Motorcycles

The makers of the officially-licensed MotoGP and MXGP video games is producing an all-new racing game featuring more than 100 real motorcycles from various manufacturers. Developed byMilestone and published by Bandai NamcoRide will be released in Spring 2015 for Playstation 4Playstation 3, Xbox OneXbox 360 and Windows PCs.

Ride offer motorcycles in four different categories: Superbikes, Supersports, Naked and Historical. The virtual motorcycles will offer their real-life specifications , with several options for customizing their engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, wheels and paint scheme.

The developers are slowly revealing some of the motorcycles to be featured in the game on its official Youtube page.As of this writing, Milestone has announced the Ducati1199 Superleggera,KTM 1190 RC8RKawasaki Z1000 and theYamaha FZ-09 (or MT-09 as it’s called in Europe).

The game will feature 15 different tracks including traditional racing circuits, urban street courses and scenic tracks in the countryside. Ride will also offer several different game modes: World Tour, Single Race, Championship, Time Trial, Track Day Challenge, Drag Race and Endurance.

As Ride is a simulator-style racing game, the developers are trying to make as real as possible, programing artificial intelligence and physics.

“With RIDE, Milestone has captured the quintessential motorcycle racing experience, with a huge selection of bikes, tracks and customization,” says Chris Gilbert, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Bandai Namco Games America Inc. “With so much content, coupled with true-to-life racing simulation, motorcycle fans will finally have the next-gen racer they’ve been waiting for, and gamers of all stripes can experience the adrenaline rush of the redline.”

The final game won’t be released for another few months but those in Las Vegas this weekend can sample the game at Sony’s Playstation Experience event, Dec. 6-7 at the Sands Expo and Conventional Center.
