Porsche Centre Lebanon is taking pioneering steps into the future with the installation of multiple E-Hybrid charging stations capable of powering the brand’s plug-in hybrid models at their Dbayeh, Corniche de Fleuve and Downtown showrooms. The now-operational indoor and outdoor units are in-line with Porsche’s global commitment to electric mobility and reducing emissions with efficient models that produce sports car performance.
The brand’s advancements in alternative fuel technology - known in Porsche as E-Performance - represent some of the most exciting in the automotive industry. This has been demonstrated with the launch of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the world’s first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment and the recently announced concept for Porsche Mission E, the brand’s first all-electric sports car.
Discussing the new charging stations, Chairman and General Manager of Porsche Centre Lebanon, Assaad Raphael, said: “The exciting developments at our three showrooms are in response to the growing popularity of hybrid models in Lebanon. Our customers are early adopters, who recognise not only the fuel saving benefits and environmental implications, but also the performance credentials of our plug-in models. It is an exciting time for the industry as emissions reduction becomes more and more prevalent and we are thrilled that Porsche is one of the leading automotive manufacturers in this movement.”
Initially debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is a model that showcases an equal balance of performance and efficiency. Delivering typical Porsche performance with a 416 hp combined total power output from the charged three-litre V6 engine and electric motor, the car also generates 590 Nm of torque. This all results in a 0 to 100 km/h time of in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 243 km/h. The electric top speed is 125 km/h.
Its high-voltage lithium-ion drive battery enables charging either via the mains supply, such as the new units at Porsche Centre Lebanon or whilst driving, delivering a pure electric driving distance of up to 36 kilometres depending on the driving style and the topography. This enables average everyday journeys to be made without consuming any fuel or producing any local emissions.
Sharing the same Porsche DNA and ground-breaking technology, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is like its Panamera S counterpart, a Porsche Gran Turismo through and through. The E-Hybrid models boasts 416 horsepower, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h. As with its fellow E-Hybrid model it is also able to drive considerable distances of up to 36 km in the completely silent all-electric mode at an electric driving top speed of 135 km/h.
The introduction of new E-Hybrid charging stations in Lebanon forms a fundamental part of Porsche’s drive to make electric mobility more accessible, by developing state-of-the art technological solutions, as well as segment-leading models that provide a balance of efficiency and performance.
