The Volkswagen Beetle might be living on borrowed time but that hasn't stopped the automaker from introducing four special edition concepts at the New York Auto Show.
First up, the Beetle Convertible Denim features a Stonewashed Blue Metallic exterior with gray accents and a denim-inspired dark blue roof. The model also has fabric / leatherette sport seats, brushed matte aluminum trim and 18-inch Disc-style aluminum wheels.
The unimaginatively named Beetle Pink Color Edition is - surprise, surprise - a Beetle with a Pink Metallic paint job. The concept also has R-line bumpers and Titanium Black / Pink Metallic interior trim.
Moving on, the Beetle Convertible Wave has a Habanero Orange Metallic exterior with chrome mirror caps and 19-inch Tornado-style wheels. Other notable highlights include wood trim and special seats with a houndstooth pattern.
Last but not least, the Beetle R-Line concept has an Oryx White Pearl exterior with gloss black accents. The car also has been equipped with sportier bumpers, a rear diffuser and 20-inch Monterey-style alloy wheels.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as there's sport seats, faux carbon fiber trim and yellow contrast stitching.
The cars are technically concepts but Volkswagen hinted that most of them could eventually go into production.
