Speedway: 2015 National Championship Schedule Announced

American Motorcyclist Association Press Release:

The sideways, full-throttle action of the 2015 AMA Speedway National Championship Series will kick-off on May 30 at Costa Mesa Speedway in Costa Mesa, Calif.

“Costa Mesa Speedway is excited to be hosting Round 1 of the series,” promoters Brad and Jaleen Oxley said. “We look forward to working closely with the AMA and our fellow promoters to assure continued growth and success of this important race series.”

The full schedule includes stops in Costa Mesa, Ventura, City of Industry and Auburn, Calif.:

– Round 1: May 30, Costa Mesa Speedway, Costa Mesa, Calif.

– Round 2: June 27, Ventura Raceway, Ventura, Calif.

– Round 3: Aug. 8, Industry Hills Expo Center, City of Industry, Calif.

– Round 4: Sept. 18, Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway, Auburn, Calif.

“We are delighted to be returning to promote a round at Ventura Raceway for the third consecutive year,” Jim Naylor and Cliff Morgan, promoters for Ventura Raceway said. “Given that the series is now the route into the British league and world championship speedway, it is more important than ever that it visits our European-sized track.”

With 20 heat races, two semi-final races and one final at each venue, only the best will rise to the top. Some of the greats of speedway racing to compete include 2014 series champion Billy Janniro, along with Max Ruml, Charlie Venegas, Billy Hamill and Bart Bast to name a few.

“Industry Racing is excited to again host the third round on August 8,” the track’s Paul Flanders said. “Our race fans love to see racers come from a wide geographical area battle for the only multi-track championship series.”

Throughout the season, the series will award more than $30,000 in prizes to competitors.

“As Fast Fridays is embarking on its 20th season, we are looking forward to hosting the Grand Final of the series,” said Dave Joiner, promoter of Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway. “Our track is prepared to pay out over $12,000 in elevated cash and prizes.

“We are excited to move the AMA’s most exciting track racing series forward along with the other series promoters.”
