Chinese woman buys new BMW with small change, employees count for six hours

A Chinese customer has bought a brand new luxury BMW making the payment with small change.

Ms Li from the city of Zhengzhou went to the local dealership of the Bavarian brand to partly pay for her 730Li and used 100,000 small denomination bank notes. The rest of the cost, around 1M Yuan, she paid with her bankcard.

It took around six hours for the 20 employees in the dealership to count the money. Ms Li explained she had saved such a large sum of one-Yuan notes because she has a food wholesale business and many customers pay with small banknotes. She decided not to use them until the time for a new car is right and spend them all at once.
