Mazda & XBox announce the MX-5 Livery Design Contest

Mazda and XBox have teamed up to create a new contest to promote the 2016 MX-5.

Dubbed the Mazda MX-5 Livery Design Contest, the event asks Forza Horizon 2 players to help create a new livery for the 1994 Mazda MX-5 that is already available in the game.

The designs will be judged by representatives from Mazda, Microsoft, and Turn 10 Studios will then select a handful of semi-finalists based on their originality, aesthetics and technical proficiency. The semi-finalists will then be judged in a public vote on XBox Live.

The creators of the two most popular designs will be flown to the annual South by Southwest festival where they will be judged by Mazda's director of design Derek Jenkins, Major Nelson from Xbox Live and Forest Byrd with TC9700Gaming.

The winner will receive a $3,500 package that includes an Xbox One Kinect console, a MadCatz Racing Wheel, an "audio music system" and a 55-inch curved TV. The winner's design will also be offered to all Forza Horizon 2 players on Xbox One and Xbox 360 as a free gift.
